Pennington Community, Georgia
Located in the western section of Morgan County, nine miles from Madison, Georgia. The famous Pennington house is located here. It was build on property that was a part of a land grant issued to Thomas Pennington, father of Samuel Pennington, for service in the Revolutionary War.
The house in this Pennington Community was occupied by W. B. R. Pennington, Sr. (born 1828, died 1903) and by his son, W. B. R. Pennington, Jr. and by his son Brooks Maddox Pennington, Sr. Brooks Maddox Pennington, Jr. was born in the house and lived here until 1953. The house is still owned by the Pennington family. The property is now used as a conference and training center for Pennington Seed, Inc. and Pennington Enterprises.
In 1992 Brooks Pennington and his wife Jackie hosted the PRA Reunion in Madison, Morgan County, Georgia and the attendees visited the Pennington Community and the Pennington house.
